Abhishek and Vivek to Work Together

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Abhishek and Vivek had worked together in Shootout At Lookhandwala, but they did not do any role together. Now the two will be sharing the screen together in Apoorva Lakhia next Mission Istanbul. The movie is been directed by Suniel Shetty. When asked Suniel about these two he said that they will be working together and neither Abhishek nor Vivek has any problems with each other. Talking about the movie Suniel said that Mission Istanbul is being made on an international scale.
The theme requires an international vision. My director is browsing for F-X team from the outside. It will be top-of-the-line technicians from abroad. The movie hooting will be in Turkey and they have been provided with the infrastructure they require for their project.

Sounds like an interesting project isnt it? Well after Ash getting married to Abhishek I dont think Vivek or anyone else will have any problem with them, and its really nice to see Vivek and Abhishek working together. Suniel will have a real tough time to produce a movie with such a powerful subject. Recently movies like Cash and Dhoom 2 were a huge hit and future action packed movies have good competition from these movies.

Variety of films is important to Dia Mirza

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Dia Mirza has been lying low for quite some time. Apart from Dus Kahaniyan one hasnt heard much about her these days. Question her about it and the actress says, “I do an average of four to five films a year. How much do you want me to do? I have Alibaug and Fruit and Nut to my credit. For me it is important to hold on to different films. After my films flopped in the beginning, I needed to do different films. Now that I have done different films and made a place for myself, I need to be the centre of attraction. I think I have said no to more films now than ever before. When I am old and grey, tottering with a stick, my grandchildren should say, Wow, what films have you done! I will do films I want to be a part of.”

How does the actress spend her time otherwise? “I have so many things to do. I am happy doing pottery painting and horseriding. Horseriding has been a childhood hobby and I didnt know they had riding classes in Mumbai until Lara (Dutta) joined it. Ive joined the Amateur Riding Club (AMC) at the Mahalaxmi race course. Its such a large place. I never knew that such a large space existed in the heart of the city. People come to jog and ride. There are children and old people around. I paint, I write poetry and love photography,” she says.

More Britney Details Emerging—Can You Stand It?

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

It’s fairly safe to say we’ve all reached the saturation point on Britney Spears, but some interesting new details are emerging about the cause of her breakdown last Thursday and what happened once she was hospitalized:
Brit’s barricade last week reportedly happened because she wanted makeup time with Sean Preston and Jayden James after having to attend a deposition earlier in the day. According to TMZ, Spears had visitation rights with the kids that day, but K-Fed and his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, wouldn’t extend the visit, so she locked herself in the house. That seems almost honorable until you read the fine print. As TMZ points out, the deposition was scheduled to end at 11:45 and the kids weren’t being dropped off until noon. Making this a fairly flimsy excuse.

Once at Cedars-Sinai, sources say Brit spoke with a British accent during her hospital stay—the same accent she used Dec. 17 while chatting with paparazzi outside the Four Seasons, according to Us. So, what gives? “There’s probably a part of her that wants to escape who she really is,” says the psychotherapist interviewed by the magazine. (So, she still wants the attention, but as a British train wreck instead of an American one?)

Finally, In Touch is claiming the singer was checked into the hospital’s third-floor psych ward as Barbara Jean, injured herself while thrashing into a wall behind her bed and ruined another patient’s birthday party by refusing to attend and arguing with the girl’s mother.

Up next, we expect her to be blamed for Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, the Golden Globes getting canceled and the war in Iraq.

Britney Spears leaves hospital yesterday with Dr Phil

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Britney Spears, 26, avoided throngs of paparazzi photographers by leaving Cedars Sinai Medical Centre through a tunnel.

The scandal-prone pop star, who left the hospital after doctors decided she was no longer a danger to herself, was accompanied by TV psychologist Dr Phil McGraw.

The talk-show therapist said that after spending an hour with Spears, he was concerned about her mental status and advised her to remain in hospital.

“My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention,” Dr McGraw said in a statement yesterday.

“She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her.”

The psychologist is reportedly taping a special about Spears for his program, The Dr Phil Show, on Monday - to air in the US on Wednesday - and wanted the singer to appear on the episode.

Spears was wheeled out of her home and taken to hospital late on Thursday night after refusing to hand over her sons - Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 - to the bodyguard of her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, as instructed by a court-ordered visitation agreement.

She was detained in hospital on a “5150 hold”, which allows Californian medical officials to hold a patient against their will for up to 72 hours.

Under the rule, a hospital can release a patient earlier if they determine they are no longer a danger to themselves or others.

Reports in the US have speculated Spears had been displaying signs of having bipolar disorder.

While Spears was being released from the hospital with her father, Jamie, the singer’s mother, Lynne, was on the other side of the US at a cemetery in the family’s home town of Kentwood, Louisiana.

She was laying flowers at the grave of her sister, who died last January of breast cancer.

A Cedars-Sinai spokesperson refused to comment on Spears’ admission, citing patient confidentiality rules.

On Friday, a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner ordered the children be placed in the sole care of Federline and suspending the pop star’s visitation rights until “further order of the court”. A hearing, set for January 14, will determine how their bitter custody battle proceeds.

Dr McGraw has a history of supporting the Spears family.

In December, after the announcement that Spears’ 16-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn, was pregnant, Dr McGraw publicly supported the family, saying “an asset Britney and Jamie Lynn both have is a great and dedicated mother” - Lynne Spears.

Britney Spears’ hospital stay was the latest headline-grabbing incident in the popstar’s turbulent life.

One of the biggest pop successes in the 1990s thanks to her squeaky-clean teen image and chart-topping singles, Spears - a former Mickey Mouse Club member - spent much of last year in and out of alcohol and drug rehabilitation and battling legal problems.

Facebook Widget Installs Zango Spyware

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

“A malicious Facebook Widget actively spreading on the social networking site ultimately prompts users to install the infamous “Zango” adware/spyware. The tremendous success and lightning fast expansion of Facebook empowered the social networking giant with an impressive user base. Needless to say, in a digital world where web traffic equals money, such a user base attracts spammers, virus/spyware seeders, and other ethic-less online marketers like honey would attract flies.”

Five killed in new Israeli strikes on Gaza

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Five Palestinians, including two women, were killed in Israeli ground and air raids in Gaza on Thursday, local medical sources said, in the latest Israeli action against the Hamas-ruled territory.

Israeli troops and tanks backed by combat helicopters were operating in the village of Bani Suheila near the southern town of Khan Yunis, witnesses and medical sources said.

Three Palestinian gunmen and two women were killed by Israeli fire and another 30 people were injured in the attacks, the sources said.

Israel has carried out near-daily military strikes and incursions across what it considers a “hostile entity” since the Islamist movement Hamas seized power in June after routing security forces loyal to Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas.

Israeli troops in about 70 army jeeps also rolled into the West Bank town of Nablus in search of wanted militants on Thursday.

In Gaza, brothers Ahmad Fayyad, 20, and 25-year-old Sami Fayyad, both members of the radical Islamic Jihad, were killed in a raid on a house which also killed their mother, Karima, 50, and sister Asmaa, 20, the medical sources said. Nine other people were injured.

One member of the armed wing of Hamas was also killed during gun battles with Israeli troops.

“Infantry units backed by the air force are continuing to operate in the Khan Yunis area,” an army spokeswoman said, adding that there were “losses” among Palestinians.

Aircraft also destroyed two houses where militants were suspected to be hiding. A third house was blown up by ground troops, witnesses added.
